Fast Company Brands That Matter: Building Brand Impact

Enel Named to Fast Company’s 2023 Brands That Matter List

The annual list recognizes brands that have built cultural relevance and impact.

ANDOVER, MA October 6, 2023Enel North America has been named to Fast Company’s 2023 Brands That Matter List, recognizing its cultural relevance and impact on the community. The annual list honors companies and nonprofits that give people compelling reasons to care about them—and offer inspiration for others to buy in. Enel is one of three energy companies honored on the 2023 list.

“For over two decades, Enel has helped electrify the economy and advance decarbonization in the U.S. and Canada with a long-term vision of creating a more sustainable energy future,” said Michela De Gennaro, Head of Communications at Enel North America. “Being named to the Fast Company Brands That Matters List among so many other high-impact companies is a huge honor and a testament to our employees’ hard work and innovative thinking.”

Enel is active in nearly every corner of the clean energy economy, providing businesses, utilities, cities, and individuals with solutions – from clean energy generation and supply to demand response and microgrids to electric vehicle chargers and much more - that are helping to create a more sustainable future. One of the largest renewables operators and demand response providers in the world, Enel continues to add new capacity and solutions that are helping facilitate the energy transition and increase power grid reliability.

“The scale and scope of honorees this year is incredible,” said Brendan Vaughan, Fast Company’s editor-in-chief. “At first glance, there might not be much in common between brands like M&M’s, Dungeons & Dragons, and healthtech platform WellTheory, but the thread that binds them is a commitment and purpose as a brand and relevance to their audience, whether that’s through fun, games, or healthcare.”

The final list recognizes 165 brands that have built cultural relevance and impact through compelling branding and efforts that naturally extend their presence into communities. All 165 have found an ability to forge an emotional connection with customers, whether leading on the environment or pop culture, engaging B2B customers, or responding meaningfully to current events.
