Enel’s New Office and Training Space in Oklahoma City Will Develop the Clean Energy Workforce

Enel’s New Office and Training Space in Oklahoma City Will Develop the Clean Energy Workforce

With a $3 billion wind portfolio plus a key regional office in Oklahoma City, we’ve been present in Oklahoma for a decade and invest in rural communities across the state. Now, we’re doubling down on our commitment to OKC with a new office and training space in Midtown.

Renewable Energy Leadership in Oklahoma

Enel announced it has started construction on its 13th wind farm in Oklahoma, the Seven Cowboy wind project in Kiowa and Washita counties, and is expanding its office presence in Oklahoma City.

With a $3 billion wind portfolio plus a key regional office in Oklahoma City, we’ve been present in Oklahoma for a decade and invest in rural communities across the state. Now, we’re doubling down on our commitment to OKC with a new office and training space in Midtown.

Wind Turbine Training Facility

Enel operates 11 wind farms in Oklahoma with two more under construction. As we work to develop even more projects, we’re also developing Oklahoma’s clean energy workforce.

Our innovative new office space will include classrooms and state-of-the art simulation facilities for working inside wind turbines. Courses will include topics like safety, professional development, working at heights, ladder rescues, turbine repair and troubleshooting. Trainees will learn in multiple settings including classroom discussion, hands-on simulation and virtual reality. Oklahoma’s wind workers will simulate the experience of climbing and maintaining a wind turbine with trainings held year-round right in the heart of Midtown OKC.

Office and Meeting Space

As Enel continues hiring in Oklahoma, we’re expanding our office capacity to support up to 25 OKC-based employees, considering our hybrid work model. Currently, Enel has over 100 positions open across a variety of remote and in-person Oklahoma roles. In addition to hosting our employees, our convenient location in the heart of OKC will allow us to engage with our state and local stakeholders from across Oklahoma and host meetings and events.

Oklahoma Community Engagement

Enel is invested in the long-term sustainability of our host communities. We’ve provided over $2 million in voluntary support to local partners across the state – above and beyond the tens of millions of dollars our projects have generated in local tax revenue and payments to landowners. Our classroom and meeting space in the new Midtown office will allow us to welcome school groups and other community organizations to learn about renewable energy and STEM concepts first-hand from our experts and education partners.

Commitment to Sustainability

As with our renewable energy projects, the buildout of this office space has followed our Sustainable Construction Site model to minimize waste and use of resources. Additionally, we have installed two Enel X Way electric vehicle chargers to bring even more smart EV charging availability to downtown OKC.
