Piero Guerritore

Head of Energy and Commodity Management, Enel North America

Piero Guerritore is Head of Energy and Commodity Management (ECM), USA and Canada & CEO and President of Enel Trading North America. He manages and maximize gross margin through optimization of the power generation portfolio position and related risks, in relation to the purchase, supply and sale of energy, related commodities, services and renewable energy credits; and optimize the hedging strategy and the commodity risk exposure of the local portfolio.

Mr. Guerritore joined Enel in 1995 and in 2018 started his current position as Head of Energy and Commodity Management for USA and Canada he oversees operations related to Energy Management, guaranteeing Market & ISO compliance & credit and Counterparty risk management, managing contracts and identifying digital needs. He is in charge of billing, settlement, scheduling, margination & guarantees, and other related activities for the portfolio including all the contracts executed at local level. He’s also in charge of all trading operations for gas (including LNG) and power in the wholesale markets, as well as other energy commodities, energy derivatives and structured energy products, and related origination activities. 

Mr. Guerritore acts as Global Energy and Commodity Management reference on regulatory issues, supports Investment and Business Development processes through fundamental analysis and capacity strategy and identifies new business opportunities.

Prior to this, Mr. Guerritore held several leadership positions at Enel in Corporate Finance, Financial Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Financial Regulation Compliance. He was a member of the Board of Directors and Director of Finance of Fondenel (Enel Managers Pension Fund). 

In 2004, Mr. Guerritore was awarded the Risk Management Award at Enel S.p.A., the first Italian company to receive the prestigious award from Risk Waters Group. 

Mr. Guerritore received his bachelor’s degree with honors in Economics from Federico II University and MBA degree from STOA'Istituto di formazione d'impresa (Naples, Italy) in partnership with M.I.T. Boston.
