Adam Sotirakopoulos

Head of Health & Safety, Environment & Quality, USA & Canada, Enel North America

Adam Sotirakopoulos is Head of Safety, Environment & Quality at Enel North America, where he is responsible for building and implementing HSEQ systems in a growing renewable energy business for more than 100 operating projects across North America. 

In 2007, Mr. Sotirakopoulos joined Enel and oversees all areas of HSEQ at these facilities, hydro, geothermal, biomass and wind power construction projects, and the department budget. He leads a team of 39 and worked on key projects including IMS implementation, building company programs, environmental compliance programs, as well as implementing other regulatory compliance programs requirements. 

Previously, Mr. Sotirakopoulos worked in safety engineer roles for Analog Devices Inc. and UniFirst Corporation, where he managed 95 member volunteers in an emergency response team and oversaw all aspects of the UniFirst health and safety program at corporate level.

He received his BS degree in Occupational Safety from Keene State College, New Hampshire and is an accredited lead auditor for safety, environment, and quality.

A SafeStart trainer and Past President ASSE Greater Boston Chapter, he was awarded Safety Professional of the year 2005, Greater Boston Chapter ASSE and New England Area (ASSE) Safety Professional of the year 2006. He is an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and AWEA Safety Committee member.
